Remember the tray of pea sprouts (Or should I perhaps write pea shoots) the Urban Roots Youth planted almost three weeks ago? No?
Here they are!
These pea sprouts had to be trimmed and cut late last week.
Unfortunately, the program was cancelled last week due to reports of Snowmaggedon 2011 closing down all school boards in the GTA. Thusly, the youth didn’t get a chance to do the harvesting themselves this time around.
That being said, 3 pounds of pea sprouts were harvested! 3 pounds of food! We’re arguing in the office about whether to call them pea sprouts or pea shoots. I personally think pea sprouts sounds tastier.
No worries though, more to grow and harvest later!
