P is for Planting

greenthumbs2021

Patricia decided to plant a garden. She wanted to grow all the things that had the same first letter as her name, but the only plant she knew that started with a P was pea shoots, so that was what she planted.

Even if your name doesn’t start with a P, come plant pea shoots with us on Sunday June 11th, 12pm – 2pm. We’ll be at the corner of Carlton & Parliament for the Cabbagetown Bike Tune Up. These gourmet greens you plant will be yours to take home to harvest a week or so later.

Cycle Solutions will be on site providing bike checks and simple tune ups. El Charro Restaurant will have some tasty crunchy munchies. Cycle Toronto Ward 28 will have info on how to get involved in the bicycle community in Toronto.

Green Thumbs will also have information on how to get involved in our programs and events in the Cabbagetown community. Garden programs are in full swing at our partner schools in the neighbourhood: Winchester PS, Sprucecourt PS, and Rose Avenue PS. Grownups gardening with the children is at the heart of these programs: we’d love to have you join us.

This two hour event is FREE!
