Robert sat on our Board of Directors from 2011-2014 and helped to bring many key organizational policies and infrastructure to our group. He is a lawyer, now mainly retired, who had gone back to school mid-career to learn more about the environment, through the York University Faculty of Environmental Studies. Our learning gardens are a catalyst to show children how versatile, delicious and fun healthy food can be, developing positive attitudes towards healthy fresh food, and increasing consumption of these foods. Green Thumbs has been at the forefront of the learning garden movement in Ontario for over 15 years. Help support this small but mighty organization to continue creating participant opportunities for over 4,000 children and youth each year, in dense urban communities that need it the most. Sow & Save – Teacher Workshop

Teachers! FREE workshop on Seed Saving. Green Thumbs, in partnership with USC Canada, is offering a FREE workshop that includes lesson plans, materials and supplies for teaching about seeds. You get a Seed Bank and a Biodiversity Bean Kit, plus a binder full of lesson plans! It’s called Sow and Save and meets curriculum expectations for grades 3-6. All grade levels welcome.
